چکیده
Carbon cycling in the mangrove ecosystem is one of important processes determining potential coastal vegetation (mangroves), sediment, and adjoining waters to carbon absorption. This paper investigates storage capacity five dominant species (Avicenia marina, Avicenia officinalis, Excoecaria agallocha, Rhizophora mucronata, Xylocarpous granatum) on east coast Indian along with role they play phenomenon. Soil water parameters were analyzed simultaneously Above Ground Biomass (AGB) (AGC) values for 10 selected stations along. The total (TC) calculated from study area varied 51.35 ± 6.77 322.47 110.79 tons per hectare a mean 117.89 28.90 432.64 106.05 dioxide equivalent (CO2e). alarm Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change reducing emissions has been addressed by calculating amount stored biotic (mangroves) abiotic (soil water) compartments. focuses technical investigations factors that control process mangroves. blue will help policymakers develop sustainable relationship between marine resource management inhabitants so trading markets can be developed, balanced.

15 صفحه اولDynamic responses of African ecosystem carbon cycling to climate change
Global climate change has been modifying ecosystem carbon cycling, which has produced feedbacks on climate by affecting the concentration of atmospheric CO2. The importance of biospheric CO2 uptake or release to climate change has generated great interest in quantifying the dynamic responses of terrestrial ecosystem carbon cycling to climate change. However, less attention has been given to Afr...
متن کاملDistribution of PCBs, HCHs and DDTs, and their ecotoxicological implications in Bay of Bengal, India.
Analyses of environmentally persistent pollutants like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) isomers, and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) and its metabolites in seawater and sediment samples collected from six locations along the east coast of India were carried out using High-Resolution Gas Chromatograph with High-Resolution Mass Spectrometer (HRGC-HRMS). Sediment...
متن کاملTrace Metal Concentrations in Zooplankton from the Eastern Arabian Sea and Western Bay of Bengal
Trace metal contents in zooplankton samples were estimated as a part of the Marine Research–Living Resource program at 24 stations in the Bay of Bengal (November, 2002) and 29 stations in the Arabian Sea (September–October, 2003) during the Cruises 209 and 217 of the Fishery and Oceanographic Research Vessel Sagar Sampada. The average metal concentrations in the Bay of Bengal zooplankton (Fe, 1...
متن کاملDistribution of Aerobic and Anaerobic Bacteria along the Intertidal Zones of Sunderban Mangrove Ecosystems, NE Coast of Bay of Bengal, India
Population of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria along the different tidal zones of Sundarban Mangrove forest sediment was studied to determine their distribution with the availability of different nutrients and other physicochemical parameters. Lower littoral zone (LLZ) along the shore which remains inundated by sea water showed more population of anaerobic bacteria (212 x 10 CFUg) than that of mi...
